One for the Journey

This lil' A/B Side speaks for a space in my musical journey, as opposed to a canonical installment of the Kh3rtis universe. My creative outlet, as perhaps is the case for many, is one of vulnerability; recently there has been a seeming disconnect between the Kh3rtis universe, and my own. There is space for both of these within my work and these tracks represent a toe dip into the notion of working out how these spaces co-exist.

These tracks therefore speak to the vulnerability of the artist, as opposed to the character I convey. They therefore manifest as experiments of sonic compatibility and recent influences. They are not overly produced and they have not been a year in the making. They were Written, Produced and Mastered over the course of a weekend and are the result of me attempting to break with the normative rubrics I have created for myself as a musician.

'Thinking About You' was written for a loved one. It's chilled and lofi-adjacent, however takes influence from the emerging Hyperpop scene. I was looking to create a sonic space of 'Post-Hyperpop'. A space where the intense, fast-paced arenas of the original scene have mellowed out, however maintaining the otherworldly nature of the original concept.

'On My Own' is a resonant one and stems from the vocal line. The anguish and pain in the voice was one that caught my heart mid-beat and stirred emotions within that I am sure we are all familiar with. The sonic experimentation here is somewhat more clear cut as the lofi-adjacent vibes are melded with conventional soul. This is simply a moment in time and creating the track allowed me to process my anxieties and insecurities, before coming back to the breath and continuing on my path.
